The road to Sorata

This weekend we went on another weekend away to Sorata, a small town also in the Yungas region, so nice and warm and slightly tropical. We drove a completely different way to Coroico (luckily no death road) so drove past lake Titicaca and past a huge range of snowy mountains. This is illampu ( It think!) which you could see from sorata towering overt the valley - very impressive!!

We arrived and decided to walk to a further away hostel over a log bridge and into a forest which was so nice. the views from the hostal and Sorata were incredible! It would be have been a bit more relaxing if there hadn't been a party on the other side of the valley celebrating that one of the sons was going into the army. The music was so loud that even across the valley it felt like we were in the same room!!
