Common Blue

And we're home again. The funeral went very well, and the music choices were very much his. (and, indeed in one case, mine). The evening meal was delicious and spent with people I'd last seen at P&P's wedding years before.

The return home was full of blocked motorways and slow traffic, but we managed.

And back to some semblance of normality, and a walk down to the nature reserve. It's so very dry; many of the trees are in a false autumn sequence and some may not survive. The recent rain wasn't enough, I fear.

All the fields around us have now been harvested, and the landscape is yellow and brown; a scorched earth indeed.
