Frozen river

The glaciers flow very very slowly, but like rivers in slow motion, down valley channels, splitting and breaking up into rapids - crevasses - over the steeper sections and rocky outcrops. On this section there are also streams of water flowing over the surface, adding to the ice loss. We didn’t need to rope up on this stable stretch so more freedom to roam around and explore the ice.
