Strange flower

My mom had this cool cactus/sedum type plant. When I was home several years ago it was putting out seeds in a pod like milkweed, fluff attached to seeds. So I brought some home and planted them. Amazingly about 7 of them sprouted. See one cute little sprout in the extra. I gave 4 away and kept 3. This morning I was stunned to see this one was blooming. You can see two more buds to the left and there are a couple more behind the flower. It is just so bizarre but I love it. I wish I knew what it was called.
Tomorrow will be the big chicken meet. I let the new girls out of their cage and let them enjoy the pen today while the old girls were out in the yard somewhere. Luckily the new girls went back in their cage before the old girls wanted back in the pen. Whew! We have put some temporary fencing up and will let everyone get to know each other tomorrow. I am preparing for some squabbles. Fingers crossed!
