Very suburban

It’s probably unfair of me, but I have spent decades thinking that an Amaryllis was evidence of deep suburban living. Then Mrs B goes and shoves the massive flowers on show on our front patio. For all passers by to see. 

But it is quite a bloom, and she says that this must be its natural flowering season, not winter when it has to be forced. I’m  impressed with its size, particularly since there are four buds in total.  Perhaps not so suburban after all . . .
