Cheery Mural

It was a clammy wet morning as I scooted down to M&S to buy strawberries and a melon for a meal on Friday with  Birgit and Bert, blippers from the Netherlands cycling Scotland. It’s amazing how heavy a melon feels when on my back with the other shopping, so it was back on the bus rather then test the ankle with the extra weight on the hill of the Mound.

This afternoon a slimmed down book group met to discuss the book I had chosen. It is
‘Sorrow and Bliss’ by Meg Mason and it was relief that despite some adverse comments about its length and the somewhat rapid way of tying up the ends, it was an enjoyable read.
The reward for all the hard work of discussing was a gluten free carrot cake, amazing both in girth and taste. It was served with Greek yoghourt and berries. I thought you would want to know that. It’s a hard life but someone has to experience it.

This mural on an entrance near Bruntsfield Links certainly cheered up the dull morning.
