Just emerged

You can see the split at the top of the chrysalis where it came out. I came downstairs at about 7 and it had already emerged - actually it appeared lifeless - see extra. About 2 hours later it was sitting as above, very still, drying and straightening out its wings. Clearly alive. At about 11 the sun came out, I looked at it again and it had flown away. I felt quite proud, but sorry that I missed its first flight. It’s sibling is still a chrysalis.
The red liquid isn’t blood, but the waste product of its chrysalis stage, where the caterpillar dissolves and the cells rearrange into a butterfly
