Small tortoiseshell

At last, the Buddleia and the butterfly border has some numbers of butterflies. Today, our small copper put in its first appearance of the year, there were at least three painted ladies, and plenty of red admirals and small tortoiseshell.
I think they were a little slow emerging this summer, possibly due to spring conditions.
The veg are still doing well, and I have a neighbour to pick while we are away, fortunately!
