Have you ever played Myst or Riven or Exile (Myst III)? For those who haven't, you might like to read THIS
Myst broke new ground in 1993 when it was first released (it's been upgraded and re-released several times since). It was a revolution in "Adventure Gaming" for that time. In the opinion of many people, it has never been surpassed in the sophistication of its play, its design or even the incredible artistry of its graphics.
Most modern "adventure games" feel they must pander to the "shoot-everything-that-moves" short attention span gamer who evidently has limited imagination and patience. Unlike new games which bristle with hints and escapes, the Myst screens are effectively blank except for the fabulous scenes which can be explored up or down or in 360 degree turns. Bloody marvellous.
Some years ago I purchased the commemorative edition boxed set of all of the "Ages of Myst". The box featured the same fabulous approach to graphics that the games themselves do and is well worth a blip in my humble opinion.
