Diglis
This morning we took a walk to Diglis Canal Basin where we had coffee at the barge. In Stratford we used to go to The Barge and Quarterdeck, here in Diglis we go to Cafe Afloat. Outside tables and a real community feeling, not too bad coffee either. To the side there is a separate tent selling veggie and vegan tortillas.
I had a little wander and took a pic or two. The main picture is the locks connecting the River Severn to the Worcester and Birmingham Canal at the basin. The extra is Cafe Afloat, from the non-serving side!
After lunch we drove to Evesham to meet Jo and James for tea and chat at the Evesham Country Park (it's not actually called that anymore but it's how people refer to it). Very nice.
Back home they are holding a beer festival at Goodroots, complete with music. We walked through there, very lively, on our evening walk. During the walk we discovered part of the original city walls dating back to mediaeval times. These are the walls that Cromwell breached in the Battle of Worcester 1651 in his defeat of Charles II and the Royalists.
