Love is like

We had a perfectly lovely three hours at the allotment today…. When we arrived the plot was still in the shade of the giant tree which stands at the top of the allotments.

The sun soon rose high and we were roasting and everything was taking quite an effort - especially digging enough holes for 160 leeks!

All the sun flowers were quite glorious and the secondary sweet peas were smelling amazing .

As we went to leave. I spotted this peacock butterfly settling on the verbena … I mistakenly thought it was one of the spice girls from last year - by JJ46 reminded me they were Painted Ladies. Not quite so colourful as this beauty.

I’m just sad I didn’t get a better picture
