Eyes to the skies in the silver gift of friendship
And relax
We rose and headed into town and didn’t go back to Limoncello. We headed for Lowrys on the chandlers and enjoyed a glorious cup of coffee and a bacon bap for me; Cumberland sausage for him. It was delish
The. Up to the walls and we walked and walked and walked. Did all my steps and more.
Had another coffee after all of the walking and headed for Lindisfarne.
We were too early for the crossing so we headed for Bamburgh castle and seahouses.
Wow Englanders know how to bank holiday eh? Everywhere was packed. Bamburgh castle exceptionally impressive as was the cricket on the village pitch and the million and one people milling around. Seahouses Much the same ; it reminded me of an up market Blackpool. Minus the pleasure beach. … but the beaches..2
Wow
Then it was time to cross and off we went. For the first time the hotel had contacted us to say ‘park outside we’ll keep a space. We were beside ourselves. Albeit that we almost had to run over three sets of tourists to get the space. But there is is. Just out of shot!
We went for a pint in the beer garden; and then took a Bimble. Himself thot it important that we checked out the ship for crab sandwiches. So we did.
We had a pint in there too and then bimbled to the mead shop. Tasted some and bought some
Then a nap
Then dinner
Oh my god. I have ate more food at dinner than I have all week
Lemon hummus with spicey chickpeas for me; octopus tempura for him. Big burger for him (steak pate ; bacon , cheese. Pulled pork.) and garlic Cooked langoustines. What fun I had with them. Too hot to handle to start with. And then with my trusty langoustine poker I went to work
Very hard work but worth it
Then banoffee pie and honeycomb vanilla icebreaker. Himself had Chcolate and Salted caramel, cherry and vanilla and honey comb ice creams. Two cups of coffee
Si walked me round the square. But I have given up and taken to my bed.
Exhausted and stuffed to the gunnels.
