Royal Military Canal near Hythe
A splendid walk along both sides of the Royal Military Canal from Hythe towards West Hythe then on up the old coastline past the Roman Saxon Stutfall Castle to Port Lympne Safari Park where I saw and we heard hyenas laughing in the scrub. It was then down to the canal and back to Hythe on the opposite side do the canal.
Surprise, surprise we passed the Unit 1 bar on the canal side at West Hythe (a popular watering hole for us) for a pint of Hopfuzz ale and a few nibbles. As a result, the last couple of miles back to Hythe were a little lethargic, enlivened towards the end by being rewarded by seeing Northern Chief pass by on its way from Hythe to New Romney
