Queensferry Bridge

We pushed the boat out on our last day. We’ve crossed this bridge a few times in the last two weeks, this time we’re going under it and the other two.

The tour was meant to be a non landing circuit out to Inchcolm and under the three bridges. We would have preferred to land and spend some time exploring the island and abbey unfortunately, all the tickets were sold when I tried to book. We were very surprised then when the boat docked and people got on and off. We couldn’t as we hadn’t bought a landing pass before departure.

However, it was a good cruise, interesting commentary, and a beautiful warm day to be out on the water. The railway bridge looked massively splendid against the slender elegance of the two road bridges.

We saw many trains rumbling their way across. I always think of three dinosaurs striding across the Firth, nose to tail, to invade the Highlands.

Thank you for all your comments, stars and hearts over the past two weeks. The shot of the Cullin from the train window reached No12 on the popular page!

The long trek south tomorrow
