Katie and I share slightly different definitions on the "back to school essentials". She now has very little spending money for the half term. But does have a very soft dinosaur called George and some fabulous dinosaur lights.

We were supposed to go for a day out with a friend today but she had no inclination to drive to York and do the planned day. So we've spent most of the day gently getting ready for school. Well not so gentle on my bank account. Ouch.

Katie had a lovely hour with B, hot chocolate, snacks and cards in the local deli. She had some lego time. We went to feed my boss' cat. And for the first time in the times we've done this, we actually saw the cat! He soon ran away though.

Home for more packing (and debating over how many books she can fit in her school bag) and The Lion King. It's definitely a Disney kind of week.
