The Oshwal Centre

We went out for a short ride and decided to look into this Centre.  There was a wedding event and lots of people wandering around but we were able to take a couple of photos.  This centre stretches over 70 acres and there were a lot of beautiful buildings.

I wanted to know the history of the land and discovered that it had been known as the Hook Estate and had housed the greyhound racing kennels for over 50 years.  It became a famous base for the London stadiums and over 600 greyhounds were cared for  by 150 employees.  It closed down in 1986 after the closure of the stadiums.

This is close to where we live and we didn’t know anything about it.
