Forty Hall
This morning Lynda called round for a coffee (well two cups actually!!). I have known her since 1974 when we were both pregnant with our first child. We’ve been firm friends over the years even going away on holiday together a couple of times. Always a lot to talk about.
This afternoon we went to Forty Hall just to have a walk around the gardens and lake but popped into the house although we have been in there before. Needless to say I couldn’t remember any of the history of the Hall. It had been built around 1630 and was the home of Sir Nicholas Rainton, the Lord Mayor of London at that time. It’s a beautiful house which has recently been restored. Moving on we had to visit the Garden Nursery across the road as I can’t miss out on on seeing what plants are around and came home with two or three or even maybe four!! Our garden needs new blood.
