White Satin Moth
This is apparently a white satin moth - and also evidently an introduced species - a pest - which causes damage to poplars, aspens, willows... In any case - it's very pretty. I don't quite know what it would be feeding on here because there are no aspens, and I don't think our "tulip poplars" are true poplars (although the caterpillars may like them anyway). There are some willows though. Not at on our property, but around here and there.
Anyway - I see them from time to time, but hadn't taken a photo or formally identified them before.
