Cemlyn nature reserve and Wylfa power station

Back blip no 3 for the week.
We drove a short way along the coast to Cemlyn nature reserve, which sits close to Wylfa nuclear power station, making a dramatic juxtaposition.
Wylfa operated from 1971 to 2015, and is now in the process of being decommissioned.
The shingle banks and shallow pools of the nature reserve attract sandwich terns in the breeding season, among other seabirds. We were too late to see them this year, but I hope to come back another time, at an earlier stage in the cycle.
Meanwhile, there are proposals to develop a new nuclear power station in the area. These are arousing concern among wildlife organisations, as illustrated by a recent commentary from the local wildlife trust:
