Chastleton House and Hidcote
SATURDAY
We started the day at Hidcote (National Trust) - see extras - where we explored the award-winning gardens. There was plenty to see and do. We had a game of croquet on the lawn, played boules on the gravel and had lunch at the tearoom. Harriet also displayed her juggling skills with the heavy boules.
Then we headed off to a second National Trust property at Chastleton House (main photo). A 17th C Jacobean country house which has remained essentially unchanged for 400 years. A fascinating time capsule and some lovely tea and cake at the adjacent church afterwards.
