Life in the slow lane
B invited us to aperos in her garden, on the same lines as our recent event, but with fewer people. Of course everyone brought food, so there was far too much. She and J-C live in a lovely house on two hectares of land outside the village. There's a stream running through the garden (currently bone dry) so there are flooding issues at times, but it's a lovely spot.
It felt hot and steamy in the village, but here it was balmy. Not a breath of wind but the air was cool and fresh and we sat out till 11:30. Ingrid, S, R and I walked back by the light of phones, admiring the stars and the pink rising moon to the sound of someone doing karaoke in their garden.
