autumnal

It was wet this morning but I went on a walk anyway. Jess had a swim and I picked some blackberries. I also picked a bunch of sweet peas and cornflowers, which are still blooming. the rain had rather battered my beautiful poppies, though.

Unexpectedly we had sunshine and blue skies this afternoon, too good to waste indoors so it was back outside for some gardening. Ive been clearing a (very) overgrown path and have removed 3 wheelbarrow loads of raspberry canes, hogweed, ragwort and other assorted weeds. I know they are good for wildlife but they are growing in abundance elsewhere in the garden; they just don't belong in this spot.

Almost time for tea - D's delicious vegetable madras :-)
