Admiring the view
Coffee with Carolyn this morning, and there was a lot to catch up on!
A late-afternoon walk with MrM, the Humbleton Round. The hedgerows are full of autumn abundance - rose hips, haws, elderberries, and juicy ripe blackberries. Crab apples, rowan berries, horse chestnuts, hazel nuts, and walnuts on trees on the Common.
We sat on the bench at the top of the track for a while, and admired this view whist nibbling a snack - it was a long while since lunch time!
Down through the Common, it was good to see two red squirrels, one on each of the feeders we passed. In the hazel bushes was a nuthatch, only the second I've spotted in Northumberland in over 7 years. Home for a late evening meal.
