Croc Country

Turns there is no wifi but at least a phone connection so can get online :-)
The main reason we came to the Northern Territory is to further indulge my fascination for crocodiles.

This morning was a cruise on the the Adelaide River where they dangle chunks of meat over the boat and the crocs leap up and grab them. We were told to keep all bodily parts well within the boat and to ignore the compulsory life jacket advice as they would do more harm than good if you found yourself in the water. This river is swarming with the reptiles so in either case you would be in a heap of trouble.
The beast in the main pic is tiny compared to the 5m monster in the first extra. Hence theTT tag :-)
The other shot is of the display put on by some whistling kites.
(The extras may not upload but I’ll keep trying. )

We then continued on the 300km trip to Kakadu National Park.
We got a fright when the car started to play up out in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception and 38 degree heat. However it seems OK now and the only thing we can suspect is contaminated fuel as we had just filled up at a dodgy bowser. Fingers crossed for no recurrence.

We arrived at Cooinda with some trepidation as my sister, 59, had a bad experience with the campsite here in June. However we were pleasantly surprised with the lodge accommodation. 3* at a 5* price but certainly most acceptable. We had a lovely swim and I’m planning to spend most of tomorrow lazing by the pool:-)
