Rugby Three

Rugby Saturdays are back.
Mrs S and Sam left for Exeter to watch the Red Roses, England Women v The U.S.A which left Paddy and I to settle into the day. A  skim through the paper, that gets saved for tomorrow, a fried breakfast with a cafetière of coffee all at a leisurely pace before a shower and change into clothing to keep me warm whilst standing on the touch line.
Whilst the emphasis is naturally on the First XV who were away in Plymouth a good crowd for a first Saturday turned up for the ‘One & All’, the Second XV.
The seconds of most clubs are the heartbeat of the club, they are a mixture of the old & bold coming down from the firsts teaching the ‘dark arts’ to the youngsters coming through from the Colts. They play for fun and the pleasure of it but their matches are no less competitive than anyone else’s.

Todays match was a great spectacle, running rugby played by teams with a smile on their faces. A 64-24 win for Falmouth, what a great start.
Mrs S and Sam arrived home exhilarated after a great day out, more in the coming days Blips.
Paddy and I walked home after three hours at the rugby club.

A sandwich for dinner before the ladies arrived home with a portion of chip shop chips.
Happy Days
