Oxford
Today is Ann's birthday. We decided to take the train to Oxford and visit the Ashmolean Museum where they are holding a Pre-Raphaelite exhibition. On arrival we found a cafe for coffee followed by lunch at a Thai restaurant. Then off to the museum and the exhibition. It was very good, most of the drawings and paintings we'd not seen before, a lot of work by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and quite extensive, room after room.
We didn't have time to do much more of the museum, though I did have a quick look in the Japanese gallery where this Samurai warrior caught my eye, see extras. We'll be back to do some more exploring of the place.
Outside the museum the streets were closed off as there was a fair with stalls and rides.
