Algae …

….. growing on schist.

Between bright yellow algae, icicles and paradise ducks, it was a fascinating walk up the Arrow Gorge this morning. There’ve been a few good frosts the last three days, so the icicles have grown again. I saw some up a side slip which looked as though they’d be 2’ at least. Massive!

We did the weekly shop at Soulfood midday and then the highlight - off to Queenstown this evening to hear Nadia Lim, husband Carlos Bagrie and Alex Worker talking to a roomful of energetic entrepreneurial types about the Future of Food. Nadia & Carlos emphasised their reasons for getting into regenerative & ethical farming, while Alex talked about producing protein foods to feed those who need food which they can afford. The ethical aspects were well debated, with many questions from the floor. I was intrigued.
