Pfalzgrafenstein Castle

... is a toll castle on an island in the River Rhine near Kaub, Germany.


Today we went on a day trip to the Rhine. The Rhine has the shallowest water point at Kaub, which shipping has to aim for with its cargo. At the moment the level is 67 cm, but a few weeks ago it was only 40 cm. The ships could only load a third of what they can normally have on board.
