Cooling Off

Decided to stay here at Le Crotoy for another night. Wandered around the town this morning & did a much longer walk along the seafront, north through dune scrub & pine woods, back along a cycle path alongside a shallow lake. By seafront I mean alongside the beach - this is the Baie de Somme, the sea is a long, long way away.

The far side of the lake had long-horned cattle & a couple of them had decided to take a dip. There were also spoonbills feeding, looking a bit like oversized avocets as they skimmed & strained the water. Interesting to watch, but difficult to photograph with the light behind them & high contrast, even though it was slightly cloudy by then. Have tried to balance the contrast in the different areas.
