May Day

May Day and not a cloud in the sky!

My sister phoned this morning and we talked about May Days long ago. She remembered one year when we made ourselves a picnic but before we were able to set off it started snowing! I remembered a year when we went fishing in the Chapel Road pond and caught sticklebacks.

Those were my birthday treats. Nowadays on their birthdays children have massive parties with magicians and sophisticated food. I'd rather go fishing and come home to jelly for tea.
