Brown Birch Bolete

After a third night of thunder, lightening and torrential rain the spaniel and I set off for Ashdown forest this morning in search of interesting fungi. I found some quite nice inkcaps and various other species but discovered that I'd taken the battery out of my camera to charge it and had forgotten to replace it. So instead here is, I think, a Brown Birch Bolete which conveniently appeared on the grass at home. 

Somewhat ironically I am off to a talk this evening 'Fungi through the photographer's lens' with Max Mudie. I bet he doesn't forget his battery!
