Reflection

Our village church was open today for reflection on the life of our late Queen, Elizabeth II. 

Light a candle, say a prayer or add a message to the condolence book. So hard to put into words the impact of her loss on the whole country. She was without compare. 

So hard to imagine us having a King after all these years.

I went across the road to the Congregational church where we were having our first book group meeting since the summer recess.  Throughout the session our church bell was ringing, as requested by the Anglican Church, Chris was doing it, one chime per minute for an hour.

Church will be open again tomorrow, support for many who are at a loss at this very sad event that somehow we believed couldn’t happen. We of the second Elizabethan age will always remember her and be grateful.
