Hot Yardfest
This lunchtime we (ATN Community Choir) were singing as the opener at Yardfest which is held in Upper Ada Street, Saltaire.
This is part of the annual Saltaire Festival and for today’s event they close off the street and operate out of two neighbouring back yards. There were seats and bales of straw to sit on and you can see some of our number using them as they waited for everything to be set up when they were taken over by an appreciative audience.
A 40 minute set of songs on what may well have been the hottest day of the year so we were ready to make for the beer and bakery tents at the top of the street when we finished. Both very popular as you can imagine.
We had a quick chat with folks whilst enjoying our cooling drinks before I had to head back for my hair appointment in the village which she had luckily been able to put back an hour for me.
It’s a great event and always a good way to round off our season of summer gigs.
