London Bridge Toll
Sat on a bench quietly, with this view, in the sunshine listening to the bells ringing commencing midday. The bell clangers were muffled (with leather probably) apart from one which had a much clearer tone.
London Bridge
Looking at the "Operation London Bridge" protocol it states that church bells should be "fully muffled with the tenor backstoke open" (if possible) from the queens death until her funeral apart except on the day that the new monarch is named by The Palace. I wonder if the two were combined today (via the single unmuffled I think bell)?
They rang a simple repeating peel for 50 mins; 10 mins less than the protocol for what that's worth. Perhaps they were fatigued.
