End of the week G&T. Local gin with a story for their name…

Under cover of darkness, in December 1798, the infamous smuggling ship 'Crooked Mary' slipped silently toward the myriad caves of Aberdeenshire's North East Coast. Landing at Collieston, its bounty of gin was buried awaiting collection from notorious smugglers, The Kennedy Brothers.

Alas, seized by the crown as she left the coast, Crooked Mary's secrets were revealed and a violent confrontation occurred, resulting in the murder of Philip Kennedy by an exciseman. Both ship and life were lost that night, but the legend lives on...
