Pocklington Canal

We decided on a change of scenery today. Thanks to Val C we tried the Yorkshire Lunch at  The Star Inn at Sancton. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and will certainly return on another occasion.

We then went along to the Canal head at Pocklington. It’s a place we have never visited before. Work has be undertaken to reinstate some of the locks as shown in the main but there is a lot of weeds and rushes still to be cleared and more locks to reinstate (see extra). It it hadn’t been for a thunderstorm we would have explored more.
