pick of the crop
I don't know what variety these apples are - they were planted long before we moved here, against a west-facing wall. They are eaters, and taste wonderful. Already some have been pecked by birds, or have fallen off and nibbled by mice or wasps. I decided to pick any that were ready and see how long they keep. We are still eating the Discoveries, which don't last very long after picking. I gave away bags of them at drumming, and one of the Sisters said "Are you sure? I don't want to leave you short of apples." There is no chance of that!!
I am having a lovely day at home. I've been on a walk, done some gardening, loafed around a bit, listened to a podcast (Dr Rangan is back!).
Hope you're all enjoying the weekend as much as I am.
