Putting Out The Flags
I was in London today to visit what proved to be a rather underwhelming exhibition at The Barbican on the British Blues movement. Afterwards I thought I would go down to The Mall to experience the atmosphere. It was packed but at that time people could not get to the Palace. The Union flag was being put up on the flagpoles that line The Mall, the crowd barriers were in place and portaloos were being installed in St James's Park. The extra photos show that, as people could not get to the Palace gates, flowers were being left around the trees in the park whilst, on the underground, the Queen's portrait was on display everywhere.
