Cornish mizzle.
A very different day. Woke to Cornish mizzle although still quite warm.
So a lazy morning. Watched a lovely tribute to Our Late Queen. Footage of family holidays with her parents, children and grandchildren.
Such happy times for her.
Sunday lunch at The Coach and Horses just along the road. A first for us as the pub we usually go to has changed hands and the reports weren’t good.
Today however the lunch was first class, and excellent value at just £9.95.
No wonder the place was full. Have already booked for next Sunday.
Back ‘ home’ and a rest after such a big meal.
Then as the mizzle stopped, decided to go for a walk round the lanes we know is well.
Blackberries, honeysuckle, wild bryony berries, and lots of ferns.
Behind the hedges we found fields of leeks, kale, and cabbages.
I have made a collage, but my main photo is of the Old man’s beard , Clematis vitalba, which is everywhere.
Loved how this looks like a star sea anemone.
There are many flags at half mast on the churches and in the next village all the flags along the Main Street, which were put up fior the Jubilee, are now at half mast, but the make do flag flying in a garden nearby ( see collage ) really touched my heart.
It hasn’t been mentioned much on TV but Cornwall now has a new Duke and Duchess, William and Kate, and I hope they visit the county soon.
