Scooter Mountain
LadyV cooked a rather spectacular fry-up for breakfast, which set us up rather nicely for the day ahead.
I was dressed and ready before her, so with it being a fine morning I took a little stroll along the prom and gazed across the bay to the fells beyond. It truly is a wonderful sight.
A slightly different wonderful sight was the junkyard in Morecambe she took me to! I have never seen anything like it. Second hand children’s toys, pots, pans, clothing and electrics all in various states of distress. What really caught my eye was the pile of second hand scooters which was stored out front (pictured here). An amazing Aladdin’s cave of a place.
We returned to Heysham to collect my car, and both agreed that we could do with another walk and so once again headed to the prom and into Morecambe for an iced tea (not had one before, it was delicious) and an ice cream as we once again lost time looking out over the bay. With the tide now in, it was populated with windsurfers, boats and the hum of jet skis.
We meandered back and then drove up to Kendal to get ready for a meal with her mother, auntie and uncle which was great fun, with a surprising amount of alcohol consumed.
Lovely relaxing day.
