Tone

It’s been an odd day. I’ve not really been able to concentrate, so haven’t achieved much.

The press, social media, radio and TV are all full of plaudits for the Queen and news of King Charles’ return to London. It will be interesting to watch his address to the nation this evening.

I took a walk out at lunch to get a couple of things in town and could hear the mournful chimes of the church bells. I didn’t know that bells had tones?

Kendal isn’t the noisiest of places at the best of times, but even by our standards, it was a very quiet, strange atmosphere out there and I was glad to get home.

It’s only been a three-day week for me, but already I’m clamouring for the weekend.
