St Giles Cathedral

Thousands waited ten and more deep on the Royal Mile for the Queen's cortege to pass on it's journey to  St Giles Cathedral.

Walking back to our flat afterwards many many people were queuing along Chambers Street and down George IV Bridge to view the coffin.  Then more people were queuing in the Meadows where the wrist bands were being issued to join the queue at Chambers Street.

Edinburgh is often very busy but I'm not sure I've seen these numbers in the city centre.

A historic day.
