Allotment Carrots

We made our way home earlier than we’d planned as this morning the Queen’s cortège would drive slowly from Balmoral to Edinburgh.

Getting back in good time I made a quick visit to the allotment for harvesting. The carrots are looking good and tasted sweet in the roasted veg for tea.

We watched on TV the cortège arrive in the city centre. The streets were lined all the way from the Barnton roundabout. There must have been thousands on the Royal Mile all the way down to the Palace of Holyrood, quietly clapping as the cortège passed.
