(Nearly) good as new

Our dentist has been terrific, CyclopsJnr was given an appointment for 9.20 this morning and he was in treatment for a full hour but they thoroughly fixed him up. 

He had an x-ray which confirmed no serious damage was lurking, then they numbed him up with gel and repositioned his front tooth. They then secured his front teeth using a band of white temporary filling across the front, and a wire behind. Finally they patched and reshaped the part he chipped off.

It looks great.

CyclopsJnr tolerated it very well and came home eager to go to school so we had him in by 11am and he stayed for fencing.

He will go back to the dentist in a fortnight to have the splints (temporary filling band and wire) removed and everything checked over.

CyclopsJnr is cleared for non contact sport but his school prefers that he spectates until the splint is off. Otherwise he just needs to eat softish food for a bit.
