Happy May day

Definitely a happy may day for us. Finally , after a long wait we have our camper van back from the garage.

Long delays in getting a new brake cable as the van isn't exactly a new one. So a new brake cable had to be specially made and that caused a very long delay while we were champing at the bit to get out and explore this beautiful country.

Van ready , Mot certificate in hand you would have thought that it would have been easy after that. No, we hadn't taken the insurance companies into account. What difficulties they presented wanting all sorts of information on our old Romahome which we bought , not even second hand , probably 42nd hand. Eventually after contacting the Isle of Wight firm who did the conversion for Citreon, we got all the info needed from a very helpful member of staff who also helped us find an insurance comapny who specialisd in camper vans and knew the Romahomes. Result, one quick phone call and the insurance was sorted , even got the best quote from them.

So , off to Lochgilphead, van taxed and back home. Great driving our car along the road in the spring sunshine , the scenery wonderful and on the road in front me , John driving the camper van. Looked good and held the twists and turns of Minard Hill really well. A good test for our journeys up to Glencoe and the likes.

Great start to the May weekend- even if we're tied up with various commitments until Monday. At least by then the rain is predicted to have stopped and fine weather is cominh in. here's hoping.
