Queensferry Crossing

Today's the day ........................ to bridge the gap

We headed off northwards today - to the Kingdom of Fife - where the wedding of nephew William and Chloe was to take place over the coming days.

It was the perfect day to travel with clear blue skies and sunshine all the way.  There were various ways we could have gone but we decided to go via Edinburgh, mainly because that would take us across the Firth of Forth on the new road bridge - a new experience for us.

And it is the most beautiful of bridges - sleek and sophisticated and utterly modern - and a pleasure to drive across.  You can just about make out one of the towers of the original road bridge further down stream.  It's the combination of all three bridges (including the famous railway bridge) that makes it such a spectacular sight.

It was good to be back in Fife too - where we have spent many a happy time in the past .....................
