Today's the day . . . . . . . to rise up

A leisurely start to the day which continued much in the same vein.  After all - the main objective of the week is to spend time with old friends, eating, drinking and making merry.

Having said that we did manage to navigate our way through 16 locks and lift the boat up some 300ft.  But as there are five of us to carry out the hard manual labour, the burden is not too great.

We saw a kingfisher today - but not for long enough to get a picture.  These young cows in extras, trying to cool off in the water, were more obliging . . . .
