Laxey
Woke up to lovely sunrise. It is *so* nice having a sea view room.
Today we toured the north of the Island - we headed over to Peel and then Ramsay. Each of the four towns has its own character and all are different from each other.
We were driving along the coast for much of today and could see the coastlines of Ireland & Scotland. Parts of the route reminded me of the east coast south of Aberdeen. Lots of patchwork fields with thick hedgerows and cows & sheep.
Our final stop was Laxey and its famous water wheel - the largest working one in the world. Our National Trust Scotland cards gave us entry so we could get up close. T went all the way up to viewing platform. I did not.
The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that the Triskellion (Isle of Man symbol) is wrong way round - however the design wasn’t standardised until the 1960s.
We had a wander around Douglas on our return.
Now enjoying view before dinner.
