It's easy to bash journalism

Hack-hammering is almost as easy as banker-bashing. And is very easy to point out the faults of the media - from phone-hacking to police bungs. But the hard-working provincial reporter battling to meet deadlines, keep contacts, maintain integrity and resist pressures to cut corners as less and less are asked to do more and more - these reporters (who are vital for local democracy and to ensure justice is done in the courts) are under attack.
