Dahlia

When Mary Jo and I left the pet memorial ceremony Sunday night we were given one of the dahlias that had been donated as part of the decorations for each float.  It was getting dark by the time we left but I could still see that this was a beautiful color so I chose it.  When the term "dinner-plate"  dahlia is used I think this is what they mean.  It's almost 8 inches across and has lasted beautifully.
